VI International Conference “Russia and Europe”: urgent problems of the contemporary international journalism

International conference in Budapest promoted by monthly “International Affairs” with the aid of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia gathered European politicians, diplomats, journalists and public figures to discuss current and future problems of the media- and informational space.

Pancandj Saran. 70 years of diplomatic relations between India and Russia: a historic hallmark

Diplomatic relations between India and Russia were established on the 13-th of April 1947, even earlier than India turned independent. Since independence had been proclaimed India immediately set a goal of obtaining economic self sufficiency and started investing in heavy industry. The Soviet Union helped with the commission of new enterprises of heavy engineering industry mining, energy production and metallurgy.

Naumkin V. Americans have got stuck in the Middle East

Avoiding any rivalry with the USA Russia is carrying out an auspicious operation in Syria in multi-vector format that could be deemed totally unique. Russian foreign policy with its great experience of mediation acquired during several decades since the Soviet time makes it possible to organize negotiation process between conflicting parties in terms of a positive prospect.

Egorov V, Shtol V. Russian language as a factor of integration of the post-Soviet space

It would be hard to imagine the growth of international prestige and influence of Russia separated from Russian language, one of the most acknowledged world languages (the sixth place among all the world languages for total number of speakers and the eighth place for those who speaks it as the native one), developing and spreading within the spaces of presence of Russian national interests. Russian has turned official or working language of a number prestigious international organizations: the Eurasian Economic Union, the CSTO, the SCO, the UN, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, the IAEA, the UNESCO, the WHO.

Trush S. A year President Donald Trump’s Chinese policy

The Chinese topic turned and end-to-end and system making one for Donald Trump’s election campaign because it had been tightly bound with the key elements of his home and foreign policy program. Globalization with its “pros” and “contras” for the USA, jobs and national industry, conditions of the American business competition in the internal and external markets, ensuring of free trade, restoration of depressive industrial areas, leak of technology and strategic secrets, key issues of military strategy, the role and place of the USA in the world and geo-economy – all these subjects were directly rather then implicitly concerned China.

Oganessyan A. Russia – a part of Europe that failed to be one

The creation of the new European integration coincided with an intense phase of the globalization process which was a stimulating and inspiring force while the European Union had been being formed. Today the debates on the globalization crisis are held nearly simultaneously with the ones on crisis phenomena of the European integration. There is a controversy in European press: who is to blame of the globalization though having had introduced quite a lot of positive traces into the world development failed to be a universal and, the most important, - harmonizing model of the world arrangement?

Boothman I. The UNESCO has chosen St. Petersburg the capital of jazz-2018

We were at the festival in Rochester in the USA. Our young guitarist went upstage and played. A was in the audience when John Abercrombie, a celebrity, turned to me and asked: “Is he your man?” – “Yes”, - I answered and he exclaimed: “You will be damned!” hat was the dialogue we had. It was a success! And there as well, at the jam-session, our trombonist, Oleg Borodin, played in a way that everyone had kicks from his techniques and originality of performance. But it isn’t enough to conquer the world. You need to grow, make your own programs, make records and play on tour.

Semyonov А. Decline of the “golden age” of rock and the birth of electronic jazz

In the end of 1960-s electronic rock simultaneously entered New York jazz stages and the ones in other USA towns giving birth to a new stile of jazz-rock or fusion. By the beginning of the 1970-s there was a sizable audience of its fans in the USA and Europe though those jazzmen still lagged behind of rock concerts as to their popularity. Amongst fusion performers bearing a considerable influence on the world jazz development should be named trumpet player Miles Davis, pianists Herby Hancock and Chic Coria, guitarists George Benson and John McLaughlin with his band «Mahavishnu», and also the groups like «Blood, Sweat and Tears» and «Weather Report». It was these promiment musicians who managed to make a break-through “fusing metric pulsation of the rock and complex improvisations of free jazz”.

Oreshina М. About some aspects of the European Union’s policy in the domain of culture

If up to 1992 issues of culture as a branch of economy had been under exclusive jurisdiction the EU member-countries, after conclusion of the Maastricht Treaty culture policy turned a prerogative of the European Union, a catalyst of the EU’s image revision and reconsideration of the idea of European unity with its popularity in a fast decline and also some counterbalance to the loss of faith in the project of European integration. The EU’s officials are improving the legal base of the development of culture and creative industry in order to make them coinciding with the current social, economic and foreign policy agenda.
