Sergei Lavrov, Russian foreign minister
BRICS - a new generation of global forum
For the Russian Federation  cooperation in the BRICS format  is a key long term foreign policy objective. We are constantly participating in the gradual nature of such cooperation, a multilateral strategic partnership on a wide range of world economic and political issues. Meanwhile, Russia`s stand in BRICS is for a new model in global relations, built on top of the old barriers of East against West or North against South.

POLICTICS

A. Pushkov.

Russia had in its history, the privilege to pursue an independent foreign policy, and will continue to carry it out in the future.
One of the reasons why our Western partners are so nervous is the about President Putin's election, is something they really did not want, the formation of a Eurasian Union. The idea that any economic alliance may form around Russia, makes many not only puzzled but also indignant.

A. Gromyko. World order or rule of law.

Is there an attack on international relations from all kinds of classical authorities, from liberals to neo-conservatives? They believe that not only has the old system that has existed since the Treaty of Westphalia in the mid seventeenth century collapsed, but the outdated Yalta-Potsdam system has also. Even for people far removed from politics, it is clear that this kind of approach is to belittle the role of the UN in the modern world, and its rebirth.

EASTERN VECTOR

Yong Song Hym. Russia and the Republic of Korea:
The view from Seoul
At the end of the Cold War, Moscow was counting on South Korean borrowing and private investment in exchange for natural resources, space and military technology. At the same time in the 1990's humanitarian ties between the two countries intensified.

Omar Nessar. A political fork in the Afghan crisis 49
Afghanistan today, ten years after the start of the US-led operation "Enduring Freedom" is perceived by the regional neighboring countries, and not only by them, as a source of threat.

DIPLOMATS AND ART

N. Danilevich. Russian art in the relations between the USSR and the
U.S. and selected pages from the 1930`s.
On August 26, 1936 America's press reported a disturbing event: the first U.S. Ambassador to Moscow William Bullitt was recalled to Washington. "The critical situation in Europe requires that the post of ambassador to the Soviet Union, be given to an experienced diplomat," wrote the "New York World." The problem was solved, but Joseph Davies who took the vacancy, arrived in Moscow on a cold day in January 1937 and held the post of U.S. ambassador in the USSR for only 18 months.

THE WORLD AROUND US

S. Glazyev. The technology to overcome the crisis.
For the first time in the 20-year history of the post-Soviet era we have managed to move the sails, which were directed towards disintegration into the direction of integration. In the last three years a customs territory has been created. Today for us there are no customs borders between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

M. Valinsky. A good tradition. Celebration Day for the Diplomatic Service at the Russian Embassy in Guinea-Bissau 91
On February 10 this year, the Russian Embassy in Guinea-Bissau held a reception on the occasion of Diplomatic Service Day. All the elite of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau came to this special event.

I. Kravchenko. Another look at history.
A documentary film about the fate of the Soviet prisoners of war in Nazi Germany.
Germany's "Alexander Ten-Maar movie KG" released a documentary film called "No Comrades" about the tragic fate of the Soviet prisoners of war in German captivity during World War II.

Facing the challenges of the XXI century.

The book focuses extensively on different aspects of the political, cultural and economic life of the Italian Republic and pays attention to another sovereign state in the "Italian boot" - the Vatican.

E. Osipov. The President's Time.
The second volume of the memoirs of the former French leader Jacques Chirac called "The President's time," covers the period from 1995 to 2007. The book was awaited with great interest in the author`s homeland, and also in the outside world, especially given the continued litigation against him in France and various rumors about his health. Chirac gives plenty of detail and describes all the main events in the 12 years of his presidency.
